Terms of Service

Effective [DATE] · [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME]

1. The service

DecodeDesk is software for planning, delivering and tracking reading instruction. It supports professional judgment but does not replace it. It does not diagnose any condition and is not a substitute for evaluation by a qualified professional.

2. Independence from branded programs

DecodeDesk is aligned with Structured Literacy principles and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by any branded reading program or training organization. Program names belong to their respective owners.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 18 and an educator, tutor, therapist, school or organization. Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and for having any consent needed to record student information, including parental consent where required.

4. Your data

You own the data you enter. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export or delete it at any time.

5. Subscriptions & billing

Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Manage billing; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices may change with 30 days' notice. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires, or at our discretion. When a trial or subscription ends, your account becomes read-only; nothing is deleted.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to access other accounts, reverse-engineer security, overload systems, or upload unlawful content. Don't enter more personal information about students than instruction requires.

7. Content

The scope and sequence, word lists, passages and activity descriptions are © [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME]. You may print them for use with your own students. You may not resell or redistribute them.

8. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change features, and we will tell you in advance about significant changes.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, and will give notice and a chance to export data unless prohibited by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / COUNTRY].
